(This book was published in Chinese) During the 1950s and 1960s, when Macao's economy was being rebuilt after the war, most of the Chinese population lived in harsh conditions and without schooling. This work gathers literary articles published in the magazines Woman of Macao and Education of Macao, reflecting on the mindset and conditions of women and education during that period. These texts, covering areas such as the status of women, the relationship between husband and wife, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, the education of children, the framework for several professions, general health knowledge, ideology and politics, education thought and methodology, among others, display a strong representation of that period and lifestyle. They are the memories of a city and a generation that has academic significance for the study of Macao.
